Amazon releases photos, poster and more for superhero show The Boys

Amazon Prime is stepping into the world of comic book heroes, and before you say it, no, we’re not talking about The Tick. On July 26, The Boys — an adaptation of The New York Times best-selling comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson — will hit the streaming service and provide a different spin on the usual superhero tales we’ve grown accustomed to from Marvel and DC.

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good,” reads the official synopsis. “It’s the powerless against the super powerful as ‘The Boys; embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about ‘The Seven.'”

To clarify, The Boys are the non-superpowered vigilantes trying to take down The Seven, a group of superpowered individuals calling themselves heroes. Check out the extremely NSFW trailer:

So, by now, you might be asking yourself: “Did I just see a tiny man jump into a woman’s vagina, a female hero sit on a man’s face and crush his skull like a watermelon as she climaxed, and a baby shoot laser beams from its eyes?” The answer to all those questions is yes.
