The Vikings famously used their longships to terrorize England, but like those ships, the History Channel’s historical drama Vikings is springing leaks left and right. First, some spoiler-filled images turned up on Twitter. Now, one of the show’s stars is teasing his character’s fate via his own Instagram page. Beware potential SPOILERS below.

Marco Ilsø, who plays Rangnarson Hvitserk, recently answered some fan questions on his Instagram Stories. That means the exchange vanished soon after it happened, but not before Metro snapped a pic.

Here’s what happened: a fan asked Ilsø “Will Hvitserk survive??” In response, Ilsø uploaded a picture of his character looking bloodied, ragged and wet, along with the caption, “Maybe…maybe not.”

That’s not definitive one way or another. Hvitserk doesn’t look like he’s in good shape in that picture, but these characters get into a lot of scrapes. The last time we forecasted the future of Vikings, we wondered if it would be Hvitserk who killed Lagertha after teaming up once again with Ivar the Boneless. If that’s the case, Odin save Hvitserk when Bjorn finds out.

Ultimately, given that its the final season of the show, all bets are off. More than one of our favorite characters will likely meet a bloody end before the series finale. We still don’t know exactly when the sixth and final season will air, but the past three (half) seasons have debuted in November. Skoal!
