The next The Walking Dead spinoff has a cast!
By Ariba Bhuvad
The Walking Dead universe is growing, and after Rick Grimes’ exit from the main show, it appears that this world will continue to expand for a long time to come. With this expansion, comes the second Walking Dead spinoff, and this is one I’m super excited about.
We’ve seen the world once the apocalypse has already begun, and we’ve seen it before it started with Fear The Walking Dead, but now it’s time to learn about the kids who were born and raised in it — the ones who have never known a world outside of it. Perhaps we’ll see Maggie and Glenn’s son, Hershel make an appearance? That would be cool.
According to a report by Variety, three fresh faces have been added to the cast of the second spinoff: Alexa Mansour (Unfriended: Dark Web), Nicolas Cantu (The Amazing World of Gumball), and Hal Cumpston (Bilched). There isn’t a title for the show, and we basically don’t know anything else about it at all, but we are definitely waiting. Let’s just say San Diego Comic-Con is this weekend and The Walking Dead folks are going, so we’re definitely hoping for some sort of major announcements.

While we don’t know much about the characters these guys will be playing or even their character names, there were short character descriptions to go with each actor.
"Mansour will play an upbeat and funny “good-natured rule breaker” who conceals an inner sadness beneath her peppy exterior. Cantu will play a friendly, diminutive karate black belt who’s “small for his age” and is also an “old soul.” Cumpston will play a shy, introverted loner who is “big for his age” and tends to scare some children — a fact he wishes he could change."
It seems as if this particular Walking Dead spinoff will begin filming this summer, and we can expect to see it premiere sometime next year. And then let’s not forget there’s another spinoff in the works, not to mention the Rick Grimes focused movies. How will we ever keep track of them all?
