When the 71st annual Emmy Awards show airs on September 22, Starz’ s Outlander won’t be represented. That’s because the show was completely shut out this year, and its fans aren’t very happy about it being snubbed.
Just can’t believe #Outlander and all of it’s cast got the royal snub from the Emmy awards committee. Maybe said committee should be sent through the stones!!!!

Outlander’s leads, Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Catriona Balfe (Claire), turned in great performances in season 4, so I’m not sure why they’re not duking it out with the likes of Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington in the Outstanding Lead Actress and Actor categories.
And this isn’t the first time Heughan and Balfe were snubbed by the Emmys. In 2018, the show received one nomination for Best Period Costumes, but nothing else.
How was @Outlander_STARZ snubbed YET AGAIN?! #Emmys

If I’m being honest, season 4 wasn’t my favorite in terms of storytelling — the transitions between colonial and modern times were less than completely smooth. Time travel can be tricky, and it felt like Outlander suffered from trying to do it too much of it.
outlander season 4 had some issues but one thing we all know is that the cast deserved these emmy awards massively. caitriona, sam, sophie and many others delivered amazing performances the whole way through. disappointed but sadly not surprised at their continual snub.

Even if I could swallow the snubs for the show’s two leads, the show’s composer, Bear McCreary, should have at least been acknowledged for his score for season 4. McCreary has always nailed it every season, much like Ramin Djawadi has on Game of Thrones. Djawadi, by the way, earned his first Emmy for his work on Game of Thrones season 7, and is once again nominated for season 8.
Also, it seems like there’s a lot of outrage that Heughan didn’t get nominated, but comparatively very little for Balfe.
Congratulations to Sam Heughan on his tireless effort of embodying #JamieFraser and his outstanding performance in a drama series every single episode, every single season. Well deserving of an #Emmy nomination but doesn’t need one to prove his excellence.#SamHeughan #outlander pic.twitter.com/QDuQJhBg45

It’s a disgrace that #SamHeughan has not been nominated for an Emmy again for S4 #Outlander. It’s a disgrace he wasn’t nominated every single year for an #Emmy and #GoldenGlobe. Award shows have lost all credibility.

It even looks like some Outlander fans are swearing off the ceremony altogether…
Gee, nice to know (in advance) that I'll have a free evening...

Certainly won't be watching @TelevisionAcad @TheEmmys @redcarpet when 71st Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards air at 8:00 PM on 14September2019 #OutlanderEmmySnub #BoycottEMMY @Outlander_STARZ 😬😥☹️🤬🥺👎
…while others hope for the sweet bliss of denial:
Please tell me I am wrong! Did the Emmys just snub Outlander?????

Well, I guess the show will just have to wait for the 2020 Emmys to have its day in the sun. And let’s be honest: it’s not like Outlander would have won anyway, because this year, Game of Thrones is going to go out with style and a whole lotta Emmy gold.
