Data, the Borg and Seven of Nine! Watch the trailer for Star Trek: Picard
San Diego Comic-Con is over, and we’re still sorting through all the trailers and teasers that came out. One more for the road?
For a while, we’ve been getting teasers for Picard, a CBS All Access show featuring Patrick Stewart back in the role that made him a household name in Star Trek: The Next Generation. The show will pick up some time after 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis. If you believe the teasers we’ve gotten so far, it will mostly revolve around Jean-Luc Picard hanging out on his family winery with his new dog, but you knew that couldn’t last. In the proper trailer, we see him boldly going back where none have gone before:
There are plenty of old friends showing up, including Data (Brent Spiner) and Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), plus several newcomers. Also, they’re still celebrating Captain Picard Day all these years later.

Are enough Star Trek fans hungry for the further adventures of Jean-Luc Picard to make the show a hit? And will it be able to bring in new viewers, or is this purely a nostalgia play? We’ll see how it all plays out when Picard debuts in early 2020.
