Insiders dispel rumors of major Doctor Who departures
By Ariba Bhuvad
Alright, Whovians, let’s talk about these Doctor Who rumors, shall we? Apparently, this all started on “a popular Doctor Who message-board,” according to the Radio Times, and has since managed to make its way all around the social media verse.
What rumors am I referring to? Oh, the ones stating that showrunner Chris Chibnall and Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker are leaving the series. Thankfully, a “well-placed Doctor Who source” told Radio Times that these rumors are “total nonsense.” Phew!
I’m glad to hear it because after previous showrunner Steven Moffat left the series, I don’t think I could handle another showrunner change. Plus, Whittaker’s first season was pretty great, and I’m nowhere near ready to lose the first female Doctor. So I say again: phew!
Per Radio Times, Chibnall and Whittaker are still set to begin filming season 12 in the near future, with a tentative premiere date sometime in early 2020. Whovians will have been waiting for quite a while by then, considering season 11 aired towards the end of 2018.

But, hey, at least it’s coming! And that weird rhino alien known as the Judoon will be back for the upcoming season, which I’m personally pretty stoked about.
