Gay of Thrones returns: Jonathan Van Ness and Lena Headey talk Emmys

Funny Or Die’s Gay of Thrones was always one of our favorite post-Game of Thrones recap shows for a while now. Host Jonathan Van Ness, who’s since gone on to huge success as the most entertaining mainstay on Netflix’s Queer Eye, came up with hilarious nicknames for each character, some of which almost more naturally off the tongue than their actual names.

But like Game of ThronesGay of Thrones is gone forever…but not before one last hurrah. Van Ness got Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) in his salon…sort of…to talk about the show’s many Emmy nominations. One more for the road!

According to Van Ness, Lena Headey is “basically the Beyonce of the Emmys if Beyonce hadn’t done Homecoming on Netflix.” We’d never thought about it that way, but now it just feels right.

Headey is the most prominent of the Game of Thrones cast members Van Ness has had on the show, although since he was actually in the salon, I think Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) still takes top honors there:

Maybe Van Ness will do another show from the Emmys on September 22? Queer Eye is nominated for Outstanding Structured Reality Program, after all. We can hope.
