Right now, as we speak, Disney is revealing all sorts of news about what it has in the pipeline at its D23 expo. It’s pulling the curtain back on The Mandalorian, its upcoming live-action Star Wars show, it announced an Avengers theme park, and there will surely be some announcements about what’s next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In that case, Deadline may have beaten them to the punch. The extremely reliable entertainment news website reports that Kit Harington — Jon Snow himself — is joining the MCU.
Right now, we have no idea which franchise Harington will be a part of, but with Marvel gearing up for Phase 4, the possibilities are man. Here are the films already on the slate:
- Black Widow
- The Eternals
- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
- Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
- Thor: Love and Thunder
And we’re that Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, and movies feature the Fantastic Four and the X-Men will be along sooner or later. He could hop in anywhere.
I could see Harington as an Asgardian…although that might be type-casting, given that he just came off a longterm medieval-ish role. Or maybe he’ll join former Game of Thrones castmate Richard Madden (Robb Stark) in The Eternals, about an immortal alien race charged with protecting Earth.
Deadline says that Harington will be in a film, but let’s not forget that Disney is also readying a bunch of Marvel superhero TV shows for Disney+, including:
- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
- WandaVision
- Loki
- What If…?
- Hawkeye
What do you think? Where would Kit Harington fit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
