Watch the trailer for Disney’s The Mandalorian!

Disney’s D23 Expo is in full swing, and all eyes are on the Disney+ panel, where the studio unveiled the first proper trailer for its live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian, starring Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) as the title character, “a bounty hunter who travels the outer reaches of the lawless galaxy, surviving as a mercenary-for-hire.”

Watch below!

So is Pascal ever gonna take off his helmet or what?

Earlier, Disney released the official poster for the show:

Gorgeous. Very spaghetti western.

Pedro Pascal is joined by:

  • Gina Carano (Deadpool) as Cara Dune. Care is a former Rebel Shock Trooper.
  • Carl Weathers (Happy Gilmore) as Greef Carga, the leader of a bounty hunter guild who hires the Mandalorian
  • Omid Abtahi (American Gods) as Dr. Pershing
  • Taika Waititi (director, Thor: Ragnarok) as the voice of IG-11
  • Nick Nolte (Angel Has Fallen)
  • Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad)
  • Emily Swallow (The Mentalist)
  • Werner Herzog (director of the documentary where that one guy was eaten by bears: Grizzly Man)
  • Bill Burr (Comedian, Breaking Bad)
  • Mark Boone Junior (Sons of Anarchy)

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May) has also joined the cast. The announcement was made at the panel today.

Ming-Na Wen plays a badass on AoS, so I hope her role in The Mandalorian will be along those lines. As far as how Disney+ will air the series, creator Jon Favreau says it will drop one episode at a time rather than release it all at once, as Netflix does with new seasons of its shows.

Having to wait for new episodes of a show each week helped create buzz for shows like Game of Thrones, so this is a good move. The series will premiere only on Disney+ when the streaming platform goes live on November 12.
