Rumors of a Witcher release date are flying around the internet

The more we see of The Witcher, the more excited for it we get. It looks like Netflix is making all the right moves with its adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy novels about a professional monster hunter making his way in a world where the people can be worse than any beast. Even if you’ve never heard of the series, the trailer looks pretty cool:

We know that the first eight episodes of The Witcher are dropping this year, but we don’t know exactly when. A couple months back, a person who worked in special effects on the show hinted that season 1 was coming in December. Now, reports are flying about Giovanni Eūgene Altamarquéz, who allegedly works in executive production at Netflix, suggesting that we could be getting it earlier:

“One likely release date for the episodes of #TheWitcher is Friday, November 1.” And there you have it.

OR DO YOU? Fansite TheWitcher.TV reached out to Netflix about these claims, and reports that “this person may not be who he claims to be.” According to their write-up, Netflix is “investigating” who he is. According to them, any discussion of a release date is pretty much just speculation right now.

So what did we learn? Well, we were reminded not to put too much trust in things people tweet, which is always a good lesson to reinforce. Whether The Witcher drops in October, November or December, we are hyped.
