The Primetime Emmys happen next weekend. That’s when the more buzzy awards will be handed out, stuff like Outstanding Actor and Outstanding Actress, Best Writing, Best Drama, and so on. This weekend, Hollywood’s brightest gathered for the Creative Arts Emmys, a ceremony dedicated  to the professionals who don’t spend quite as much time in the spotlight but are just as important to making a show like Game of Thrones as good as it is: special effects technicians and hair stylists, sound mixers and costumers, and so on. These are their stories.

Game of Thrones has a huge presence at this year’s Emmy Awards, Creative Arts and otherwise. In fact, the show is nominated for a record 32 Emmys for its final season, and it’s already taken home 10! Here’s what the show won at the Creative Arts Emmys!

The most anticipated award of the ceremony was probably Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, where Carice van Houten (Melisandre) had her first-ever nomination.

  • This Is Us — Phylicia Rashad as Carol Clarke

Unfortunately, van Houten didn’t win the award, but at least she and Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) got to present:

Composer Ramin Djawadi, however, did take home the gold for his fantastic work on the show.
