Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) has landed a lead role in Survive, a new show coming to the mobile-only streaming service Quibi, which will go live in April of 2020. The show is already in production, with Turner starring alongside Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton). The show is based on author Alex Morel’s book of the same name.

Per The Wrap, the show will follow Turner and Hawkins’ characters after they survive a plane crash in a snow-covered mountain. The pair decides to “endure a dangerous trek out of the wilderness” together, hoping to make it back to civilization alive.

“After reading the script, it was clear that we’d need to find the right artist to take on the lead role in Survive and we couldn’t be happier than to have Sophie starring who brings a high caliber of talent to the table,” said executive producer Van Toffler. Mark Pellington (The Enemy Within) is directing, while Richard Abate and Jeremy Ungar serve as writers.

Quibi is unique among streaming services in that every episode of its shows will last only 10 minutes apiece. That’s obviously a new way to approach this kind of thing, and I guess it makes sense if it’s viewable only on mobile devices, but it’s kind of hard to get excited about. How epic can a survival tale really feel if you have to watch it in 10-minute increments on your phone?

Or maybe we’re out of touch. What do you think? In any case, the Quibi app will cost $4.99 per month with ads, or $7.99 per month without ads.
