Game of Thrones shut out of Supporting Actress category at the Emmys!

Game of Thrones fans were in a for quite a shock at tonight’s Primetime Emmy Awards, as none of the four cast members nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama category — Maisie Williams, Lena Headey, Gwendoline Christie, and Sophie Turner — took home the gold. Instead, it went to Julia Garner, who plays Ruth Langmore on Netflix’s Ozark.

I’m still trying to process the fact that this happened, and it looks like Twitter is, too.

I think we all expected one of these women to take the win, especially given that this was the final season. Every single one of them brought their acting A-game for the final season, and it stinks to see them go home empty-handed, with no shade at Garner, who does an excellent job over on Ozark. Maybe they split the vote?

In other news, Kit Harington lost out in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama category to the wonderful Billy Porter of Pose, while Emilia Clarke lost the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama award to the very talented Jodie Comer on Killing Eve. Congrats to all the winners and nominees!
