Reese Witherspoon wants to be in Stranger Things season 4

Stranger Things creators/casting directors/whoever’s job this is: Reese Witherspoon has a request to make. She’d like to be in season 4! Could we make this happen yesterday or what?

Witherspoon put her desire into the universe on Twitter, where all things of importance happen. She posted an Emmys throwback picture of herself alongside a very young Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers).

In her excitement and love for Stranger Things, Witherspoon seems to have forgotten that the show’s third season wasn’t actually up for any Emmys this weekend — the season came out too late; it’ll be eligible next year — but we forgive her. Who can keep track of arcane awards show guidelines when you have gigs to book?

But let’s actually think about this for a moment. If Witherspoon was to hypothetically be in Stranger Things, who could she play? A completely new character? Someone related to the current ones? Perhaps Hopper’s sister who shows up after he’s presumed “dead”? Oooh, I actually like that idea.

Maybe she’s someone’s aunt? Joyce’s sister, perhaps? Or maybe she’s completely unrelated to anyone and could be season 4’s villain. As we saw at the end of season 3, the Russians are still very much up to no good, so maybe Witherspoon could get in on that side of things.
