Stranger Con comes to Chicago this weekend!

With Netflix’s Stranger Things finally confirmed for a fourth season this week, it’s the perfect time for fans of the show to celebrate Hawkins,the Upside Down, and ’80s nostalgia. And that’s exactly what attendees of Stranger Con will be doing this weekend.

Coming back for a second year, Stranger Con will take place on October 5 and 6 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, located at 9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue in Rosemont, IL. Creation Entertainment has plenty of exciting events planned for congoers.

As with most pop culture conventions, guest panels are the main attraction, with a number of the Stranger Things stars appearing to speak onstage. They include Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Caleb Mclaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Matty Cardaropie (Keith) and Chelsea Talmadge (Carol). Chester Rushing (Tommy H.) will serve as host for the weekend.

Over the course of the two days, the stars will dive into their experiences on the show and interact with fans. There will be opportunities to meet the guests for autographs and photos, with tickets being sold onsite. The entire Hawkins gang may not be present, but there are certainly enough familiar faces to get fans excited.

Of course, panels and celebrity appearances aren’t the only benefit of attending Stranger Con. The weekend also lets Stranger Things fans to interact with one another, forming bonds within the community through things like cosplay contests, trivia and board games, and live auctions. There’s also a Night Karaoke Celebrity Party on Saturday, so fans can come together in their love of ’80s music, putting on performances that would put even Dustin and Suzy to shame.

For those who love bringing home souvenirs from their favorite conventions, Stranger Con will also feature vendors selling a variety of merchandise — from crafts based on the show to selfie stations.

Overall, Stranger Con is shaping up to a fun weekend for fans of the series. And for those who can’t make it to the east coast for New York Comic-Con, this certainly seems like a solid alternative. General admission tickets were available through Creation Entertainment’s website, but it looks like they’ve been taken down. But tickets are available at the convention itself.
