Lauren Cohan will return to The Walking Dead for season 11

The Walking Dead fans were in for a major treat this past weekend! During their panel at New York Comic-Con, the cast and crew dropped some very exciting news: Lauren Cohan is back! Panel attendees were in for a shocking surprise when Cohan took the stage wearing a mask, pretending to be an excited fan.

As soon as that mask came off, it was all but confirmed that The Walking Dead was getting one of its most amazing badasses back: Maggie Greene. And it’s a good thing, because we’ve lost too many badasses already.

Now, Cohan won’t be returning until season 11 — season 10 just started — so we’ve got a little bit of wait ahead of us, according to Fox News. Luckily, it’s not that far away.

In my opinion, Cohan’s return to The Walking Dead was inevitable because 1) she wasn’t really gone for that long, and 2) her show on ABC, Whisky Cavalier, was canceled. I assume she was free to come back and that she and the network came to an understanding about pay. According to The Hollywood Reporter, salary was a big part of why she left in the first place.

Whatever happened, I think many of us are just happy to have Cohan back. She’s one of the OG characters of the series, and she’s been badly missed. She didn’t reveal specifics about Maggie’s return at NYCC, but assured us that we would learn everything in time.

Next. Yes, the final season of Game of Thrones was a chaotic mess, and it was glorious. dark
