The Eighth Doctor’s current series ends with the biggest multi-Master story ever, in the fourth and final volume of Doctor Who: Ravenous – out today!

One Doctor. Four Masters. The Eighth Doctor’s latest box set might be one of his biggest yet in Ravenous 4 – the conclusion to the Doctor Who audio series that began back in April last year. Facing the only monster the Time Lords have been deeply afraid of, the Doctor will need all the help that he can get. But can he truly trust four different incarnations of his oldest foe?

"The Ravenous are the most relentlessly voracious creatures ever to haunt a Time Lord, and they now have the Doctor’s scent. The only thing left to do is stand and fight. It will take a monster to defeat a monster. But what will be the cost? The past, the present, and the future conspire against the Doctor as he fights to defeat the only creature ever to strike fear into the hearts of a Time Lord – the Ravenous."

After opening episodes Whisper and Planet of Dust by Matt Fitton – the latter of which focuses on Geoffrey Beevers’s emaciated incarnation – the main draw of this box set is its two part finale: Day of the Master by John Dorney. Featuring Geoffrey Beevers, Eric Roberts, Derek Jacobi and Michelle Gomez, this story looks set to be an epic finale.

More from Winter is Coming

This won’t be the first time that Jacobi has worked with Nicola Walker, who plays long-running companion Liv Chenka in the Eighth Doctor audios. They had also worked together on BBC One drama series Last Tango in Halifax. Working again but in very different roles has proven to be a little strange for Walker, as she reveals.

"There’s a slight problem for me in that, when I see Derek, I just want to embrace him and snuggle into the crook of his arm. But I can’t do that this time as he’s the Master. I have to keep remembering to be very suspicious of him."

Regardless, it’s still going to be fantastic hearing their characters opposite each other. In fact, with so many enemies to face and so many threads to resolve, Ravenous 4 is sure to be an epic listen! Be sure to check out our reviews for it very soon!
