Millie Bobby Brown “was pissed” over the ending to Stranger Things 3

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR STRANGER THINGS SEASON 3 BELOW!

Stranger Things season 3 didn’t end the way Millie Bobby Brown would have liked, according to a recent interview she did with Elle. In fact, she claims she “was pissed” that Eleven moves away with the Byers family, away from Hawkins and away from Will. I won’t lie–so was I.

Couldn’t they have just stuck around Hawkins? I know things ended on a very tragic note with Hopper dying, but it didn’t feel like the best thing to me either. Something me and Brown have in common, it seems.

"I read the script and I was like, ‘What, how is this even possible? Why are they moving away?’ They were like, ‘Didn’t you read episode 3?’ And I was like, ‘Oh yeah.’ Because Joyce said she wanted to move away from Hawkins. I don’t know. I just felt really against it."

It’s unclear what Stranger Things season 4 will have in store for our dear Eleven, but there is an interesting fan theory going around: that she could be the next season’s big bad villain. While it sounds cool and all, Brown isn’t 100% on board.

"I kind of like it! I’m into it. I wasn’t playing it like that. We don’t know what happens in season 4. I definitely don’t. In scenes after the Mind Flayer grabbed me, I wasn’t playing it as I was infected. I was definitely playing it as normal as possible. And maybe that’s the reason they didn’t tell me. To make it as real as possible. I don’t know. Those theories freak me out a bit. Because I’m like, ‘Oh god, that could genuinely be true.’ And what if she is the villain? That would be so cool. Wouldn’t that be cool? I’d love to be the villain, but then I also wouldn’t because Eleven is perfect. It would suck."

Wouldn’t Eleven make a pretty badass villain though? I can just see it now. An evil Eleven wreaking havoc everywhere she goes, and along the way, she gains stronger, crazier powers. And obviously the black eyeshadow from season 2 would make a return.

Speaking of season 4, if any of you have been perusing Twitter recently, you may have seen the account for the Stranger Things writers. Every Friday, they’ll be tweeting out a list of five movies they talked about that week. The first list is pretty intriguing, since it’s not all about the ’80s-themed horror we’re used to from the series, instead ranging from slapstick sci-fi to rom-com!

How the heck does You’ve Got Mail belong on that list? What Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks-like tomfoolery will Mike and Eleven get into in season 4? Or better yet, maybe it’s for Dustin and Suzie!

I can see why Ordinary People is on the list, considering that it concerns dealing with the death of a loved one. The group has lost Hopper (or have they?), so everyone has a lot of feelings. There’s a lot of advice they could take from the 1980 coming-of-age movie starring the late Mary Tyler Moore.

I think it’s obvious what cues the team is taking from Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey: evil robot twins who look like Bill and Ted and are sent back in time to kill the kids. Calling it now.
