The Witcher is Netflix’s biggest release for the rest of the year. The show, based on author Andrzej Sapkowski’s series of fantasy novels, is about a professional monster hunter named Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) who makes his way through a medieval-esque fantasy world where the people can be worse than the beasts.
As you can see, we already have a trailer for the show…basically. Technically, the above video is a “teaser,” which does everything a trailer does — familiarize you with the world, introduce you to the main characters, show off the visual style, give you an idea of where the story will go, etc — but it’s a little shorter, I guess.
But fear not. Netflix just confirmed that an official trailer for the show will debut at the Lucca Comics & Games Convention in Lucca, Tuscany, which will be held from October 30 through November 3. They even put out a new teaser…for the trailer…that doesn’t contain any new footage:
Honestly, I feel a little jerked around but at least something more substantial is coming.
