Ryan Reynolds recently visited the Marvel Studios Headquarters. The internet reacted in a calm and orderly fashion.
Nah, we freaked out. And why wouldn’t we? With Disney’s recent acquisition of Fox, the comapny now owns the rights to characters from the X-Men franchise and, more importantly, Deadpool. So, naturally, when Reynolds posted a picture of himself at Marvel Studios, the rumor mill started churning like crazy.
Why was Ryan Reynolds there? Is there a Deadpool/Spider-Man movie in the future? Or maybe Marvel is going to go all out and bring the “Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe” comic to life on the big screen? I mean, probably not because Disney and all, but just imagine that.

Honestly, I’d just love to see Deadpool in action with the rest of the Marvel Universe in some capacity. Lest we forget, the writers of the Deadpool movies did say they’re looking forward to him integrating into the MCU proper, and Disney CEO Bob Iger said that there’s no reason the series couldn’t continue with its R-rated bonafides intact.
Here’s hoping Ryan Reynolds isn’t prematurely trolling us — and to fair, that does sound like something he’s capable of doing — and that sooner or later, we’ll look back at this Instagram post and reminisce over the moment Deadpool officially joined the MCU.
It’s a shame Captain American and Iron Man have pretty much been written out of the MCU. Deadpool would driven them crazy.
