We’re 59 days away from the theatrical premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the ninth and final chapter in the Skywalker Saga, a saga that started way back in 1977 with Star Wars: A New Hope. As is the case with every Star Wars film created by Disney since 2015’s The Force Awakens, a final trailer is shown in October to mark the occasion when fans can pre-order their tickets online.
We’re at that point now. Watch below:
Comparatively, this final trailer was the least exciting of the sequel trilogy trailers. But maybe that’s just me.
What I did like, however, was what appeared to be Palpatine’s throne in the final moments of the trailer, as well as Rey staring at a hooded figure looking back at her.
There are moments of awe, like all the Resistance ships stacked on top of each other in some sort of maneuver, and if you paid extra-special and close attention, you probably recognized the Ghost — the ship from Star Wars Rebels — to the right of the screen, or to the left of the Millenium Falcon.
Anyway, tune in tomorrow as I break down the trailer scene by scene, looking for hidden clues in beautiful HD screengrabs. And if you’re ready to purchase your tickets online, then head on over to Fandango and make it happen.
