We’re a paltry three weeks from the series premiere of the first-ever live-action Star Wars show, The Mandalorian. Set directly after the events of Return of the Jedi and starring Game of Thrones veteran own Pedro Pascal in the lead role, The Mandalorian follows a bounty hunter making his way on the wilds of the Outer Rim.
Showrunner/creator Jon Favreau leads an eclectic group of experienced and talented directors like Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), as well as first-timers like Bryce Dallas Howard (daughter of Ron).
The directors for each episode of The Mandalorian have been revealed:

Entertainment Tonight’s Ash Crossan was very emotional:
Just watched 27 minutes of Mandalorian footage and legit cried. Can’t say much but — This is real and it’s happening and it feels SO FREAKING STAR WARS pic.twitter.com/A56KJBc1GH

Former Moviefone guy Drew Taylor was happy Favreau didn’t pinch pennies on the budget:
Also it looks as expensive as it is — they didn’t skimp with this one. Spaceships, creatures, etc all in full effect. Cannot wait for full episodes. #TheMandalorian

Steven Weintraub over at Collider gushed about the show but was cryptic about a particular scene. Darnit, Steven, tell us!
Saw 27 minutes of @themandalorian. It's as awesome as you want it to be. Can't say anything specific but one scene answered a question that I don't think has ever been explained/shown in any @starwars movie. Love that it opens up the Star Wars universe in a cool new way. pic.twitter.com/vTxC427sVi

Seriously, I need to know what he’s talking about and I’m not sure I can wait until November to find out.
The founder of Geeks of Color, Dorian Parks, was hyped:
Just screened 27 minutes of footage from #TheMandalorian! Everything I saw looked incredible. Feels completely different than anything we’ve seen in the #StarWars universe! pic.twitter.com/6LOdiq0BAD

And naturally, we’ll want to hear the opinion of someone from StarWars.com:
I’ve always gotten a Spaghetti Western feel from the teasers for The Mandalorian, so that tracks. Writer/director Ben Mekler is also on board with those comparisons:
There’s a remarkable campfire scene in #TheMandalorian that’s quieter than anything I’ve seen in Star Wars. Just a group of rogues who mistrust each other, not speaking - just silently munching raw vidalia onions, occasionally pausing to mutter “that’s a juicy one”...I got chills

Based on these impressions, you’d think that Jon Favreau had dialed up the best thing to happen to Star Wars since The Empire Strikes Back. If you want even more Mandalorian, the cast and crew talked about the show for 20-odd minutes at a press event. Watch below:
I can’t wait for November 12.
