Outlander season 5 is nearly reaching the end of filming (yay!), which means we are that much closer to the end of the Droughtlander. However, according to ClaireandJamie.com, Starz has to reshoot a few scenes before filming can officially wrap up.
During Sasnak City 2019 (an Outlander fan convention), it was mentioned that filming would be completed around November 17, although that’s subject to change. The final episodes are nearly finished, and rest assured, they are going to be epic — or at least that’s what the cast tells us. And of course we believe them because they have yet to disappoint us.
Without giving anything away, cast members said that there are a lot of surprises in store for fans of the series and of the books. Even if you’ve read The Fiery Cross, the book on which the fifth season is based, you may not be completely prepared.

During the convention, star César Domboy (who plays Fergus) shared the tidbit about reshoots. Of course, this doesn’t mean we should panic; reshoots are pretty common shows.
In any case, Domboy had to return to Scotland following Sasnak City to film some of his Outlander scenes. This is why some, but not all, of the cast members had to cancel their convention appearances.
Whatever the reason for the reshoots, I have no doubt that Outlander season 5 may be the best yet. February 16 can’t come soon enough!
