Pixar debuting six original shorts on Disney+ on Day 1—Watch the trailer

Disney+ goes live on November 12 with a mountain of content available for the start. But it’s not done. Just today, Disney released a new trailer for six short films from animation gods Pixar, the company behind Toy StoryFinding NemoThe Incredibles…basically a good chunk of the animated classics from the last 20-odd years. Watch below!

The shorts are Float, Purl, KitbullSmash and Grab, Wind and LoopSmash and Grab is way out of step with the rest. Didn’t that team get the memo about one-word titles?

Pixar is mostly known for its feature-length movies, of course, but in the theaters, most of those movies only air after an animated short film, some of which have become nearly as beloved. I can’t be the only person to get misty watching Bao.

Original content from Pixar can only Disney knock its upcoming streaming service out of the park. There is some competition brewing out there — in addition to veterans like Netflix, HBO Max looks to be putting up a decent fight — but I don’t see Disney+ being anything but a solid success, and possibly a spectacular one.

Personally, I’m interested in seeing the talking ball of yarn on her first day on the job or whatever in Purl.
