The BBC teases…something…involving Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor Who

facebooktwitterreddit

We’ve pretty much gone the whole year without any new Doctor Who episodes (there was a special on January 1 but that’s just over the wire). We know that’ll be changing when Jodie Whittaker returns to the role of the Doctor in early 2020, but there’s still next to nothing in the way of footage or teases or posters or anything…until now.

Yes, the BBC has come along to tease with an image of…Jodie Whittaker’s shadow as she exits the Tardis. Or enters it. Really, there’s not much to go on. “Watch this space,” they say. Will do.

But seriously, I expect the Doctor Who marketing team to start ramping things up pretty quickly. Christmas approaches, and that’s always a good time for Doctor Who-related announcements, or even specials.

In other micro-teases, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse writer Phil Lord just tweeted out this:

So there you have it! Spider-Man: Into the Second Spider-Verse, or whatever they’ll call the sequel, will hit theaters on April 8, 2022. Yeah, it’s a while away, but at least there’s something set in stone.

More more Twitter tease: Disney just announced that Avatar, the second highest grossing movie of all time, will stream on Disney+ when the service drops on November 12.

They’ve got to start building interest in this movie again, otherwise people might not go see the 38 sequels they’re planning.

Don’t worry, there are only four sequels, if you were panicking. That’s still a lot, though.

Next. Rumorville: Hayden Christensen has a cameo in The Rise of Skywalker?. dark
