Emily Bett Rickards to return as Felicity Smoak for Arrow series finale

Arrow fans, we have some very, very exciting news about the upcoming series finale. Emily Bett Rickards is set to return one last time as Felicity Smoak!
Star Stephen Amell (Green Arrow/Oliver Queen) made the announcement himself on Twitter:

I’m glad the news was officially announced rather than leaked.
Arrow’s final season started a couple weeks back. With the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover storyline on the horizon, things are about to get very interesting. If I had to speculate, I’d say that the crossover is why Rickards is returning as Felicity. My guess? Oliver Queen/Green Arrow will die during Crisis, and Felicity will return for his funeral. I know that’s a morbid prediction, but everything about Arrow lately seems to be setting up Oliver’s death.
To get specific, the creepy presence of the Monitor — an all-knowing being with knowledge of the upcoming Crisis — is giving me serious “Oliver Queen is about to die” vibes. But we shouldn’t give up hope. Maybe, just maybe, Rickards will return to shift Olicity (Oliver + Felicity) back into full gear.
