Halloween may be behind us, but thanks to Jamie Lee Curtis, we can keep the spook going with the first look at Halloween Kills, the sequel to 2018 revival of the classic horror franchise.

Check out the 20-second sneak peek for yourself below!

The footage gives us a quick glimpse of director David Gordon Green doing his thing, the spooky side profile of the infamous Michael Myers, and Curtis herself as Laurie Strode, the original final girl back for another round with the slasher to end all slashers. I know we still have a wait ahead of us, but I am so ready for the next Halloween installment.

Based on the sneak peek, it looks like despite Laurie’s attempts to burn him alive, Michael Myers is still kicking. But we’re not too surprised by that, are we? He’s one of the most indestructible villains in horror. Something as minor as burning a house down on top of him isn’t going to do much.

In an interview with Collider last month, Curtis spoke about returning to the franchise and what its comeback — the 2018 movie performed very well — means to her and the fans.

"What I love that David [Gordon Green] and Danny [McBride] and company did is they connected the dots for 40 years, now they’re going back to really unpack the first movie, bringing back all those characters whose lives were affected by what happened in 1978."

Halloween Kills comes out on October 16, 2020, so we’ve got about a year of waiting ahead of us. Hopefully, Curtis continues to release behind-the-scenes looks in the meantime!
