Watch the trailer for the third season of The Dragon Prince on Netflix!
By Dan Selcke
Is it the fall TV season or what? Between Watchmen tearing it up on HBO, His Dark Materials making a big splash across the pond, and The Walking Dead already in full swing, it’s already a good time to be a sci-fi/fantasy fan, and there’s lots more where that came from just around the corner. I’ll show you what I mean.
Let’s start with the third season of The Dragon Prince! This animated epic from Avatar: The Last Airbender writer Aaron Ehasz has been quietly building a following over the past few years on the backs of likable characters, a sweeping story, and some definite Game of Thrones-y influences, but toned down for the PG crowd. The show has gotten better as it’s gone along, and season 3 promises to be the best yet.
The human prince Callum and the elven assassin Rayla have crossed the border into the magical realm of Xadia, with Zym the dragon prince in tow. They’re hoping to return him home and prevent a war between their peoples. Meanwhile, Callum’s younger brother Ezran has returned to Katolis to take up the throne and manage things following the death of his father. What happens next? The trailer actually gives away a fair amount, so you may not want to watch if you don’t want to be SPOILED:
So Ezran learns to ride a dragon and unites with Callum and Rayla at some point! You’d figure they’d want to keep something like that under wraps, but sure.
Season 2 was an improvement on season 1, and I hope season 3 keeps that pattern going. The new episodes drop on Netflix on November 22.

Sticking with cartoons, Adult Swim teamed up with legendary video game designer Hideo Kojima to get the word out on Death Stranding, his new game. The game looks as weird as your average Rick and Morty episode, so those two are the perfect spokespeople:
Dire times call for dire measures. #DeathStranding #ad

Rick and Morty season 4 premieres November 8, the same day Death Stranding comes out. Talk about synergy!
Back to trailers…well, teases…M. Night Shyamalan uploaded a few teasers for Servant, his creepy Applt TV+ drama about…well, I’m not exactly sure, but it involves a spooky baby.
You can start watching on November 28…if you dare.
Finally, HBO dropped a trailer for season 2 of The New Pope, HBO’s follow-up to The Young Pope. This time, John Malkovich dons the mitre as Giovanni Paolo III, aka Pope John Paul II, who confesses to being “irresponsible, indolent, pompous, and conceited.” Sounds like good TV.
The New Pope premieres in January.
