Diageo is bringing us one last Game of Thrones-inspired whisky

Game of Thrones ended earlier this year, but the merchandise empire it built is alive and well. Case in point: after releasing a wildly successful line of Game of Thrones-inspired scotch whiskeys prior to season 8, Diageo is dipping back into the barrel for a ninth and final whisky, aptly called “Six Kingdoms.”

As you might recall, the North left the Seven Kingdoms in the series finale with the blessing of the new King of Westeros, Bran Stark the Three-Eyed Raven. Naturally, the Three-Eyed Raven features heavily on the bottle, a 15-year-old single malt from the nearly two-hundred-year-old Mortlach distillery in northern Scotland.

Clocking in at 46% ABV, “Six Kingdoms” begins life in sherry-seasoned casks before being finished in American bourbon barrels, which give it a “bold, smooth taste with notes of vanilla and spice.” Jeff Peters, vice president of licensing and retail at HBO, is excited about the new whisky. “Eight fantastic Scotches toasted the coming of the final season of the show, and we now look back on the most captivating television show of all time and raise a ninth glass in celebration,” he said in a statement.

We tested most of those Scotches in the name of science, FYI. Read our thoughts here.
