We’re a mere seven days away from the series premiere of The Mandalorian, the first-ever live-action Star Wars television series. The show will be part of the launch day lineup for Disney+, the company’s highly anticipated new streaming service.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell from Game of Thrones) as a lone bounty hunter plying his trade on the edge of the galaxy in the lawlessness following the fall of the Galactic Empire. In addition to Pascal, the show has an all-star cast:
- Gina Carano as Cara Dune, a former Rebel Shock Trooper-turned-mercenary
- Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, a former governor who served the Empire and who now employs a private army
- Carl Weathers as Greef Carga, the leader of a bounty hunter guild
- Werner Herzog as a client of Pascal’s Mandalorian
- Taika Waititi as the voice of the droid IG-11
- Bill Burr, Mark Boone Junior and Natalia Tena (Osha from Game of Thrones) all play bounty hunter outlaws
- Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, an assassin
- Julia Jones as Omera
Finally, Nick Nolte will play Kuiil, an Ugnaught alien. We get a look at Kuiil in action in a new teaser. Check it out:
“I have never met a Mandalorian,” says Kuiil. “I’ve only read the stories.” Nolte does more than just voice Kuiil; he also did motion capture work.
