The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has officially begun shooting!
With the debut of Disney’s new streaming service just a week away, it’s officially time to start looking forward to the new series that will be coming to Disney+. And one that fans can definitely get excited about — even if it won’t be among the titles available on day one — is Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The series won’t premiere until 2020, but thanks to an announcement from stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, fans can rest easy knowing that the show is officially in production.
The two lead filmed a video to let fans know that work had begun, confirming the news live from the set. And yes, they’re already bickering about word choice.
With Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson taking over in Steve Rogers’ absence, fans should probably get used to seeing some friendly verbal sparring between the two.
In honor of the occasion, Mackie also tweeted an image of the actors’ chairs on set:
Seeing how enthusiastic the stars are about working on the show is refreshing, and we can only hope that writer Derek Kolstad is right there with them. After all,The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be the first Disney+ series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so expectations are high. The reception for the show will likely set the tone for the MCU series that follow.
