The likes of Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie and Kit Harington are currently busy shootingThe Eternals, one of the next big things in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yesterday, filming on the island of Fuerteventura — one of the Canary Islands, off the coast of northeastern Africa — was interrupted after a bomb was discovered in the area. Madden, Jolie and others were rushed offset while disposal experts were called in, reports The Sun.

First off, no one was hurt. Second, the bomb wasn’t put there by anyone trying to sabotage the movie or anything. More likely, it was left over from World War II, when the Nazis had a base on the island.

That’s actually pretty interesting, but only in retrospect and only if no harm comes of it. In the moment, finding a bomb — even an 80-year-old bomb — in your vicinity is awful. “It was obviously terrifying,” said one insider, “the bomb could have been there for decades untouched but who knows what might have happened if it was disturbed. Some of the biggest stars in the world were on set and nobody was taking any chances. Fortunately, experts dealt with it.”

The Eternals, set for release in November of 2020, is one of Marvel’s big new tentpole movies now that it’s started in on Phase 4 of the MCU. It’s about a group of immortal beings — the Eternals, naturally — charged with protecting humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. Madden and Jolie play, respectively, Ikaris and Thena, both members of the Eternals. Harington, meanwhile, plays Dane Whitman, a human superhero who will somehow be pulled into their story.
