Jason Momoa kills James Corden, and other fun tidbits
By Dan Selcke
Former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa is on quite the roll lately. From dominating the box office as Aquaman to leading his own series, See, on Apple TV+, it’s a good time to be in the Momoa business.
For his latest act of wonder and amazement, Momoa got the chance to shoot arrows at Late, Late Show host James Corden…blindfolded. Did Momoa make Khal Drogo proud? Watch below. (The fun starts at five minutes in).
Most of the characters on See are blind, hence the blindfold, and yet Momoa still manages to find the target, much to Corden’s dismay. Add it to the five thousand other reasons Momoa remains the Game of Thrones cast member we’d most like to go have a drink with.
Speaking of badasses, fellow Thrones alum Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) has been added to the cast of BBC America’s spy thriller Killing Eve, according to Entertainment Weekly. The award-winning espionage drama starring Sandro Oh and Jodie Comer added a bevy of cast members for its upcoming third season, including Pedja Bjelac, Camille Cottin, Steve Pemberton, Raj Bajaj, Turlough Convery and Evgenia Dodina. There’s no word on who any of them will be playing, though.
Finally, the Mother of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke, is slamming people who choose to spoil Game of Thrones her new romantic comedy Last Christmas. Speaking to IndieWire, Clarke deemed spoiler culture “bloody annoying” and “frustrating.”
For those unfamiliar with the Last Christmas (in theaters today), the film is based on the Wham! song of the same name and features a plot twist that, to be fair, it looks like a lot of people guessed pretty soon after the first trailer. That further frustrated Clarke, who talked about how much work writers Emma Thompson and Greg Wise put into the script.
"Emma and Greg wrote this script together, but they sent the script to all of their friends and it was only ready when their friends didn’t see the twist coming and couldn’t guess until it happens, so that’s where it comes from."
At any rate, Clarke has something to say about spoiler culture. “It’s done with so much fervour, it’s done with a huge amount of energy and all that is, is misdirected energy.”
We have no idea what she’s talking about. On a completely unrelated note, we stared at the trailers for hours and we’re pretty sure we’ve figured out where Ozymandias is on Watchmen.
