Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) is out on the press trail promoting her new movie Last Christmas, which means we get a lot of fun gimmick interviews. One of the best came from Vanity Fair, which hooked Clarke up to a lie detector and her all manner of questions big and small. How does she feel about her dental care as a British citizen? Is she the best actor from Oxfordshire? Who has she bent the knee to, and where does she thinks Drogon went after the season 8 finale? It’s all on the table.

The video is just shy of 18 minutes long but is well worth the watch, because anyone who’s watched Emilia Clarke in an interview knows that her energy is infectious. Check it out:

We have to hit the bit where Clarke is asked about her meeting with Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. Did she ask him to bend the knee? “No, I think I was asked to bend the knee,” she remembered.

"You have to do the whole thing, you can’t turn your back, you have to curtsy, you have to say- he has his title, his Royal Highness, or something along those lines. I struggled with that. But I should’ve. I don’t think he’s ever watched my show."

According to E! News, in 2017, Prince William and the duchess Kate Middleton told BBC Radio 1 that they were fans of Game of Thrones. William even said the show was “worth watching,” which sounds like faint praise, but when you account for royal British stuffiness, it’s actually effusive.

Clarke was also asked if she was the Mother of Dragons. She said yes and the lie detector confirmed she was telling the truth, which is all the proof we need. Of her three dragon children, did she have a favorite? “Drogon is kind of like, he’s my oldest boy, who was the first, really,” she said. “When the three of them came out, I think he came out first.”

She also thinks she knows where Drogon went after carrying away Daenerys’ body in the series finale. “I’d like to think he went to Hawaii. I know there is a specific place where dragons go [that’s in the books]. Otherwise he’s just roaming the seas. Crying.”

  • The coffee cup was not hers. Let the lie detector be the final say in that scandal.

Oh, the true coffee cup culprit was been identified.
