While Avengers: Endgame forced fans to say farewell to some of the original Avengers, both Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) remain a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the two may no longer be at the center of the franchise, we’ll likely still see them pop up throughout Phase 4 of the MCU — and maybe even into Phase 5.
In fact, after confirming that there are “probably more” Marvel films that will feature the Hulk, Ruffalo shared some ideas on where he’d like to see his character go. Speaking to ComicBook.com, the actor said he’d like to see the Hulk embrace his Avengers alum status by sharing what he’s learned with the newcomers. “I’d like to see him hang out with some of the new folks, you know? Maybe be like a guru to some of the younger ones.”
That’s a role that could really work for Ruffalo’s Hulk. Not only is Bruce Banner one of the most intelligent members of the Avengers team, but he’s struggled with his power more than the other heroes have. And the difficulties he’s faced on his journey have probably left him with some wisdom to impart to the newer members. If nothing else, he can teach them how to time travel…
Kevin Feige, president and chief creative officer at Marvel Studios, agreed with Ruffalo. “That’s a good idea,” he said.

With the actor and producer on the same page, we can easily see the character going in this direction. Still, some mystery remains. Will Smart Hulk be sticking around, or will Ruffalo be shifting forms again soon? We’ll have to wait to find out, but at least fans can be hopeful that we’ll see the character again in some form.
