Harry Potter fans are once again going to be disappointed to learn that there is not a new film in the works. Over the years, there have been many, many rumors about a new batch of Harry Potter films on the horizon. Some rumors have stated that a movie adaptation of the Broadway play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the works, with the original cast members reprising their roles. There’s no solid indication that this is happening, but you never know what the future holds.
.
Another rumor has been making the rounds lately: about a month ago, Facebook user, Márcia Farias cut together a trailer for a “new” Harry Potter movie set to come out in 2020. Take a look:
TRAILER HARRY POTTER 2020 😱
Posted by Márcia Farias on Monday, October 14, 2019
As you can see, the trailer has over 25 million views, so it got people excited. But of course it’s not real. Although series stars Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson all appear in the trailer, their scenes are cherry picked from other movies they’ve been in, whether it’s Jungle for Radcliffe, The Circle for Watson or Snatch for Grint. A lot of effort was put in to make this trailer seem as believable as possible.
Between rumors of an eighth book, a Harry Potter TV series and more, I say Potter fans have had enough. It’s too much for our gentle hearts to take, and we either want the rumors to stop, or we want to see them come true (well, some of us)!

Personally, I don’t want to see any more movies from that storyline because I believe it was brought to an end perfectly. For now, the closest thing to new Harry Potter movies we’ve got is the spin-off series, Fantastic Beasts, and I’m content with that! Some things just shouldn’t be messed with.
