Tom Felton doubts the Harry Potter cast will reunite for another movie
Returning to the Wizarding World can be a bit like returning home, and that’s exactly why stories set in the Harry Potter universe, like Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, have kept cropping up over the years. But despite the success of these additions to the Potterverse, it doesn’t seem like there’s any truth behind recent rumors that that the original series of films will see a sequel or a reboot in the near future. Not only have such speculations been repeatedly debunked, but the original cast just doesn’t seem interested in revisiting the franchise.
Speaking with CinemaBlend, Tom Felton, who played Draco Malloy in all eight Harry Potter films, talked about whether he and his former castmates are likely to ever reunite for another film — specifically, the Cursed Child movie that’s long been turning the rumor mill. “How much you offering?” Felton asked. “I’m joking. I don’t think it will be reprised, to be honest with you. I think it was a wonderful eight chapters, and everything that needed to be done was done.”
His sentiment is one that’s been expressed frequently by fans who don’t see the need to update the original franchise — a subgroup that actually makes up a pretty large portion of the fandom. Many feel that Deathly Hallows Part 2 brought an end to a perfectly satisfactory story, one that doesn’t warrant rebooting anytime soon, if ever.

Of course, there will always be other fans who want to see more of Harry and his friends onscreen — along with those who just want a more accurate depiction of J.K. Rowling’s books. For them, Felton’s words may come as a disappointment. But it’s not so surprising that the actors involved have moved onto other projects, and it would probably be difficult to get them all together with their schedules, even if a Cursed Child movie were to happen — which, judging by Felton’s words, seems unlikely.
