With less than a month to go until its December 20 release, Disney is releasing new footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker seemingly everyday, and we barely know where to start. Do we begin with our first glimpse at the Knights of Ren, Kylo Ren’s (Adam Driver) mysterious band of Force-sensitive baddies? Or how about flying stormtroopers launching themselves off desert motorcycle tanks?

Now that said it out loud, we’re definitely going with the latter. Watch a new clip from the movie below!

I love that someone somewhere decided that what the First Order really needed was a motorcycle tank that catapulted stormtroopers into the air so they could fly using their jetpacks. Personally, I’d have invested the jetpack money in more target practice, but it looks pretty cool, I guess.

Next up, a more trailer-like TV spot gives us our first look at the Knights of Ren. They don’t have jetpacks, but I guess they’re still interesting.

The Knights of Ren were a group of former students gathered by Kylo to destroy Luke Skywalker’s  Jedi academy before the events of The Force Awakens. What exactly have they been doing since? Perhaps we’ll learn in December.

We also get new footage of that massive space battle we assume will feature in the film’s climax, along with new lines from C-3PO (“If this mission fails, it was all for nothing”) and Emperor Palpatine (“Your journey nears its end”). Neither of those are very comforting. We assume the Emperor, as per usual, has some superweapon up his sleeve.

One more clip: a special look at the anticipation for The Rise of Skywalker, and for the series in general.

Yes, that is Ed Sheeran and Lin-Manual Miranda in Star Wars costumes, although a representative from Disney said that neither are confirmed to appear in Rise, and that this footage is from “fan events over the years,” according to Yahoo Entertainment.

With less than a month to go before the end of the Skywalker saga, we can expect more footage to come. Although we doubt anything can top jetpack stormtroopers. The bar has been set.

Next. Thank the maker, Baby Yoda toys are coming to a store near you. dark
