AMC is expanding the world of The Walking Dead with a second spinoff show, about a new generation of people who have grown up in a world ruled by the dead. The name? The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

AMC also released a teaser. Check it out:

I haven’t really been on board with the base Walking Dead show for a while, so I’m ready for some fresh blood and new storylines. As you can see, this particular show will be focused on younger people. World Beyond is a fine enough title, but I was hoping they’d call it Walking Dead High. Also, that trailer has awfully chipper music considering all the shots of zombies getting gored.

So far as we can tell, this show takes place in the Commonwealth, a mostly-functioning civilization that managed to build itself while much of the rest of the world fell into chaos. Notice the circle symbols on those helicopters; we’ve seen them before on both The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead. Presumably, that’s also where Rick was taken after exiting the show in season 9.

World Beyond is coming in the spring of 2020. It stars Alexa Mansour as Hope (subtle name, that), Nicolas Cantu as Elton, Hal Cumpston as Silas, Aliyah Royale as Iris, Annet Mahendru as Huc, Nico Tortorella as Felix and Julia Ormond as Elizabeth.

Next. Daenerys has some fun in a deleted scene from Game of Thrones season 8. dark
