We were down two Arrowverse shows this week (Batwoman and Supergirl), but it didn’t mean the intensity was any less. However, Black Lightning and The Flash did not live up to expectations, and I’m rather disappointed. We have just one episode between now and the start of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. Shouldn’t things be getting crazy right now?!
This week on Black Lightning, Jefferson Pierce had a lot to deal with. But as I’ve said time and time again, this show has way too much going on. I have no idea who to care for or what story to pay attention to. And there’s still no inkling as to how the show will connect to the Crisis.
On The Flash, Barry Allen faced quite a ghastly ordeal with Ramsay and his black goo. As with Black Lightning, there isn’t much a segue into the crossover event. Having said that, The Flash mentions the Crisis umpteen times, even if we still don’t know how it will get us there. Instead, the episode focuses on Ramsay and how he takes over Barry.
Luckily, where The Flash and Black Lightning fall short, Arrow makes up for it with its Groundhog Day episode. A lot of shows and movies try to mimic Groundhog Day, and it always tends to go a bit wrong. Arrow struggled a little bit but the ending was well worth it.
There’s plenty more to talk about, so let’s dive into this week’s Arrowverse episodes!
