Stranger Things writers accidentally confirm return of beloved character
By Dan Selcke
The third season of Stranger Things was probably the show’s best yet, or at least the most ambitious. It also ended with some big changes for our gang of dimension-hopping ’80s tweenagers, and we’re all excited to see how the group tackles them.
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a while. Production on season 4 is underway, with details already leaking out, but we probably won’t see a completed new episode until late 2020 at the earliest.
Until then, we can subsist off the table scraps doled out by the official Twitter account for the show’s writers. And just the other day, they may have said something they didn’t mean to say. According to Bloody Disgusting, they responded to a fan question asking for a favorite line from Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke), the clever Scoops Ahoy worker introduced in season 3…and then they deleted the tweet. Happily, the internet is forever, so here it is:
So apparently Robin has a good zinger in season 4. We’d expect nothing less. The weird part of this story is the deletion. I guess the Stranger Things staff didn’t want to give away that Robin was in season 4 at all?
That seems a little silly. I mean, Robin survived season 3 intact, and was last seen helping her buddy Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) land a job at Family Video. Also, she’s awesome. How could she not be in season 4?
As long as we’re talking about characters people are hoping to see back for season 4, the jury is still out on Sheriff Hopper. Now that’s a tweet I would understand deleting.
In other Stranger Things news, the YouTube channel Bad Lip Reading did a bad lip reading of the show and it’s funny. Enjoy:
Gotta love the theme song.
And there’s more! I now present to you: the cast of Stranger Things arguing about reindeer on Twitter. The definitely-real feud started with Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) popping off about Rudolph:
Finn Wolfhard (Mike) fired back with an impassioned defense of “the most famous reindeer of all”:
The internet’s fun, huh?
