Disney is currently hard at work filming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the first of several Disney+ shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you couldn’t guess, this show stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in the titular roles as they put the world back together following the events of Avengers: Endgame, where all the people Thanos snapped away in Infinity War suddenly blipped back into existence.
It’s that event — known as “The Blip” — I’d like to focus on today. A new image has leaked from the set of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and it shows that the series will address the consequences of the Blip head on:
In this post-Endgame world, development companies are getting rich off the Blip, no doubt coming up with all kinds of solutions for Blip-related problems. Surely you imagine a few. What if families downsized their homes when their loved ones were snapped away, and suddenly need to scale back up? Call Samson.
There may be more nefarious consequences, too, consequences that it may take a Falcon and a Winter Soldier to solve, but we’ll find out the specifics when the show airs in the fall of 2020.
These two are dealing with things besides the Blip, of course. As you may remember from Endgame, Steve Rogers bequeathed the title (and the shield) of Captain America to Sam Wilson, aka Falcon. So why isn’t the show called Captain America and the Winter Soldier? By the sound of, that’s a whole other complicated situation:
