Even with filming on season 4 of The Last Kingdom over, the cast and crew continue to share images from behind the scenes. From new characters to pivotal moments to an appearance by Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) we’ve got a little bit of everything this time around.
First up, Arnas Fedaravicius (Sihtric) and an unknown actor pose for an awkward photo. Could we be looking at Uhtred’s son? Season 4 will feature a large time jump, so this might be our first good look at Uhtred son of Uhtred…who’s also son of Uhtred, but a different one.
Yes, please no zooming.
Not to be outdone, Mark Rowley (Finan) shares a sleeveless shot taken by fellow star James Northcote (Aldhelm):
And here are the two of them together, in a pic shared by the show’s makeup artist. Looking good, boys.
It looks like Team Uhtred will get a nice little upgrade in the armor department, if this shot is anything to go off of. Is that a hint of green we see under Finan’s armor? It would be appropriate for the Irishman.
And if you still haven’t gotten enough of Finan and Sihtric, you can see the pair at the Wales Comic Con, going on this very weekend at the International Centre in Telford, United Kingdom.
Next up, Adrian Bouchet (Steapa) scarfs down a meal while getting blood applied to his face between shots. We’re not sure that’s sanitary.
File this under “actors lead a glorious life.”
Bouchet also shared a photo of his very own Funko figure, created by a loyal fan:
Dear Funko, please give us a Last Kingdom line immediately. Please and thank you.
Lady Aelswith might be insufferable on screen, but actor Eliza Butterworth is quite the joker. Here she is following onscreen nemesis Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon):
We’ll file this next image away under, “We’re not crying, you’re crying.” Emily Cox (Brida) shares a heartwarming tribute to Ragnar (Tobias Santlemann). Enjoy Valhalla!
If anyone gets to make a cameo in a dream or something in season 4, we vote it be Ragnar.
Offset, Magnus Bruun (Cnut) appears appearance alongside Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime). The two of them were cooking New Nordic Cuisine for…some reason. Save us a plate.
And finally, we get a behind-the-scenes look at an “incredibly beautiful scene” from season 4. Based on that cross, it looks like it occurs in the main square of Winchester, although we could be wrong.
Season 4 still doesn’t have a release date, but all these images keep us warm through the cold of the offseason. Destiny is all!
