Hot on the heels of nominations for Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, the final season of Game of Thrones has picked up several nominations at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Check out the field below:

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series

  • Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us)
  • Steve Carell (The Morning Show)
  • Billy Crudup (The Morning Show)
  • Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones)
  • David Harbour (Stranger Things)

The Morning Show is your horse here, Screen Actors Guild? Okay.

Anyway, this is the sixth time Dinklage has been nominated for his work as Tyrion Lannister. He’s never won. Is it finally time?

Moving on…

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series

  • Big Little Lies (HBO)
  • The Crown (Netflix)
  • Game of Thrones (HBO)
  • The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu)
  • Stranger Things (Netflix)

Once again, Game of Thrones has been nominated in this category before — this will be its seventh time — but it’s never won. No time like the present!

Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series

  • Game of Thrones
  • GLOW
  • Stranger Things
  • The Walking Dead
  • Watchman

Final one: Game of Thrones has been nominated in this category a full eight times — once for every season — and so far, it’s won every time. This is one award they probably have in the bag. Here’s hoping they nab the others when the Screen Actors Guild Awards are handed out on January 19!

And there are other awards afoot. Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Clapton is nominated for her work on the final season. Here’s who she’s up against:

Excellence in Sci-Fi / Fantasy Television

  • Carnival Row: “Aisling” — Joyce Schure
  • Game of Thrones: “The Iron Throne” — Michele Clapton
  • The Handmaid’s Tale: “Household” — Natalie Bronfman
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: “Penultimate Peril: Part 2” — Cynthia Summers
  • Watchmen: “It’s Summer and We’re Running Out of Ice” — Sharen Davis

Clapton has won this award four times, and been nominated three more. In support of her nomination, I have only one thing to say:

That will be all.

Finally, the Art Directors Guild has nominated Game of Thrones production designer Deborah Riley for her work on season 8. The field:

One Hour Period or Fantasy Single-Camera Series

  • A Series of Unfortunate Events — Bo Welch
  • Game of Thrones — Deborah Riley
  • The Crown — Martin Childs
  • The Mandalorian — Andrew L Jones
  • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel — Bill Groom

Remember when Riley and her team built a whole city so they could light it up?

Riley has won this award thrice before, and was also nominated without a win one year. Her predecessor, Gemma Jackson, won twice and lost once. Let’s bring it home!

That time a Game of Thrones fan threatened to punch Dean-Charles Chapman in the face. dark. Next
