Watch the first few minutes from Outlander season 5!

Outlander returns on Starz in just a couple of months, and the cast and crew are taking pity on fans parched by the long Droughtlander by releasing a few minutes of footage from the season 5 premiere. Watch below!

We’ve got two clips to go over here. The first is a flashback to when Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) was a kid, his fire-red hair already in fine form. His godfather, Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) promises to always be there for Jamie, a promise that may be challenged now that they’re on opposite sides of a coming war.

Next, we skip forward to full-grown Jamie, who’s helping Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin), his son-in-law-to-be, shave before his wedding. Roger comes from the future, like Jaime’s wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe), and doesn’t really have the skills to provide for Jamie’s daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) here in 18th century America. But Jamie has clearly come to terms with that, and even gives Roger a ring that Murtagh has made.

Outlander season 5 kicks us with a big wedding on the Fraser estate. May it be undisturbed by battle and time travel-related conflict.

Outlander season 5 debuts on Starz on February 16.
