Thor: Love and Thunder is going to be “bigger, bolder and brighter”

There are a ton of films and miniseries headed our way over the next few years, but it’s going to be hard to outdo Marvel, which has big plans for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And a big part of that is Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Taika Waititi.

Waititi already directed Thor: Ragnarok, which is both the best reviewed and most lucrative movie in the franchise. And according to him, Love and Thunder will be even bigger.

“The next Thor film I’m doing, basically, we’re sort of launching ourselves again on this adventure film, really,” Waititi said. “That was the thing really that I loved about doing Ragnarok, it felt like we were just putting Thor on a really cool adventure. There’s always new things to see and do, and this one, I think we’re gonna double down a lot on that and have it bigger, bolder and brighter. There’s gonna be some really crazy stuff in the film.”

“Crazy stuff” is to be expected, what with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will be taking up the hammer and becoming the Mighty Thor in this installment. On top of that, Thor: Love and Thunder will see Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) as the new king of Asgard, a development that’s sure to come with its own set of challenges.

Thor: Love and Thunder won’t arrive in theaters until November 2021, so fans will be waiting a while to see how all these storylines unfold.
