Stand for all: Watch the new trailer for Outlander season 5
By Dan Selcke
The Droughtlander is nearly over, and Outlander fans are about to be whisked back in time to a period full of war, romance, danger, family, and hunky actors who simply refuse to keep their shirts on. Outlander season 5 is almost here. Watch the official trailer:
“If there is a war,” begins Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). Oh, there’s definitely a war. Season 5 finds the Fraser family living in North Carolina on the eve of the Revolutionary War, and things are about to get extremely real. There’s a lot of talk in the trailer about whether some of the characters should return to the (relatively) more peaceful future from whence they came. Clearly Roger (Richard Rankin) is thinking about it, whatever his new wife Bree (Sophie Skelton) thinks. And why not? Why wouldn’t you want to be in a time period with running water and vaccinations over the blood-riddled smallpox-fest that was the Revolutionary War?
But it looks like the family will try to stick together. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) applies her 20th century nursing skills to the problems of the nascent American colonies, and it looks like our 18th century-born heroes are getting some hints about this whole Revolutionary War thing is supposed to turn out. Is that cheating?
Outlander season 5 premieres on February 16, on Starz.
