It looks like Castlevania season 3 is coming this year
By Dan Selcke
It’s been over a year since fans have gotten a new look at Netflix’s Castlevania, the anime-inspired, ultra-violent vampire-hunting drama based on the classic Konami video games. The first season was an unexpected hit, the second was…fine, and we’ve known the third has been coming for a while. But that’s pretty much all we’ve known.
Until now. Powerhouse Animation, the studio behind the show, has dropped a couple of teases on Twitter that more or less confirm we’ll be getting more of the adventures of Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades and Alucard before the year is out:
Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact date, but we only have another 12 months to go before 2020 ends, right?
Season 2 came out around Halloween of 2018, which was thematically appropriate, but let’s hope we don’t have to wait that long for the third outing.
We have even less of an idea of what will happen. At the end of the second season, Trevor, Sypha and Alucard successfully invaded Dracula’s castle and killed the man himself, with Alucard delivering the final blow to his father. Dracula’s servants and lieutenants are scattered to the winds, but if the games are any indication, at least one of them will get the bright idea to resurrect their former master, and the dead will live again.
