Game of Thrones stars Richard Madden and Kit Harington will finally be back on screen together soon, in Marvel’s The Eternals.
This movie is a big deal. Now that Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ended with the defeat of Thanos, Marvel is starting up a new story, and it looks like The Eternals will be a big part of that.
The Eternals are a race of ancient aliens who have lived on Earth for millennia, silently protecting the planet from their mortal enemies, the Deviants. Now, a tragedy is forcing the Eternals to make a move.
Madden, who played the ill-fated Robb Stark on Thrones, plays the Eternal Ikaris. He may be an eternal godlike being, but as these set photos show, he can blend in normies, too:
That said, when push comes to shove, a superhero’s gotta do what a superhero’s gotta do, which in this case means fly:
Wheeeee!
Harington, know the world over as Jon Snow, isn’t playing an Eternal. He’s playing an ordinary human dude — Dane Whitman — albeit one who’s also the medieval-themed superhero Black Knight.
So Kit Harington is playing a sword-wielding casting director who wears a lot of black. I don’t think the casting director used a lot of imagination for this one.
Anyway, you can see Harington with costar Gemma Chan below. She plays the Eternal Sersi, with whom Dane starts a relationship:
Ah, an ancient all-powerful being and a modern-day knight in love:
And here’s Dane, Sersi, and the Eternal Sprite (Lia McHugh) running like hell, for reasons:
The movie also stars the likes of Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Angelina Jolie (Thena) and more. Below, Sersi, Phastos and Thena go on location:
The locations and sets in general look pretty impressive:
For his part, Madden is psyched to be working with Harington again, although we don’t know if they share much screentime. “It’s brilliant,” he told Digital Spy. “It’s been about 10 years since we’ve worked together, I think. So we’ve moved on a bit to different things, so I’m really excited to get back on set.”
The Eternals comes out on November 6.
Speaking of Game of Thrones cast reunions, viewers of ITV’s true crime drama White House Farm were surprised during last night’s new episode when Alfie Allen and Gemma Whelan, who played Theon and Yara Greyjoy on Thrones, showed up as Brett Collins and Ann Eaton.

Naturally, fans sounded off:
And this show also stars Mark Addy (Robert Baratheon) as a detective. Come one, come everyone!
