Andrew Lincoln takes aim in preparation for Walking Dead movies

Andrew Lincoln is set to reprise his iconic role as Rick Grimes in an upcoming trilogy of movies set in AMC’s Walking Dead universe. Rick was last seen in The Walking Dead being taken away by helicopter with Jadis, after receiving several seemingly fatal wounds. We haven’t received many concrete details about the upcoming movies yet, but Scott M. Gimple, the Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead universe, did reveal that the trilogy will take us in “wild new directions.”

Lincoln seems to have taken preparation into his own hands. He was recently spotted at the Cotswold Range where he (hopefully) was preparing for his return to the world of the dead. The range posted some pics of the man himself, who was posing in front of a poster that says, “Danger: Beware of Zombies.”

Rick has been out of commission for a while, but it looks like he’s still got the knack when it comes to killing walkers!

Seems he was less successful with the apple challenge, though. There, the goal is to shoot through an apple suspended in front of the target board. Zombies are bigger, though. He’ll be fine.

Lincoln isn’t the only actor to visit the Cotswold Range. In the past, folks like Greg Kinnear have practiced their skills there, whether to practice killing zombies or just for fun, we don’t know.

The Walking Dead universe is ever-expanding, and AMC appear to be wasting no time in commissioning new shows, such as the upcoming The Walking Dead: World Beyond. However, it wasn’t always that way. At least, not according to former Walking Dead star Michael Rooker, who played Merle Dixon back in the early days of the show. When he was recently at Wales Comic-Con, a fan asked whether Rooker preferred playing Merle in The Walking Dead or Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy:

"I don’t prefer either. I made more money on Guardians. Walking Dead, they were cheap. AMC was very cheap. That’s probably why they killed me off, because they knew I was gonna get more money the next season."

That’s a big contrast to today, when the principle actors are making bank every episode.

The Walking Dead season 10 continues on February 23 on AMC.
